Benefits of a Wholesale Devon Rose Account

  • Client recognition that you are using a local accredited source with high welfare credentials:: Devon Rose is an EU accredited, SALSA authorised award winning family company specialising in free range meats from Gatcombe Farm in Devon.
  • Operating on a sustainable basis: We have been farming, game keeping, catering and butchering since the 1800s.
  • Artisan produce: All sausages and burgers are hand produced, all hams, pastramis and bacons traditionally dry cured. All smoked products are "true smoked" in our own smoker (as opposed to painted smoke flavouring). It also goes without saying that none of our produce has water added, which means for you the product will experience less shrinkage.
  • Openness: Our complete process is explicit to everyone.
  • Common sense pricing to suit your needs: Where we agree prices, we try to even these out over the course of the seasons to reduce fluctuations in farming costs. For example the price of Devon beef changes weekly depending on supply and demand. We often set a fixed price with our clients so that they can expect a consistent price margin.
  • Help with your marketing: We work closely with our customers and add value to the business by recommending your business to our mail order clients which now exceed 7000.
  • Flexibility: All items packed to your requirements. (We have no standard pack sizes). We can produce both our own label and branded products. We are also happy to create special products for our clients, If you would like a personal recipe sausage we can produce in small or large batches to suit.

We welcome our clients onto the farm to see our process and recommend partner producers for field visits where we work in collaboration for bigger orders.

It would be our pleasure to serve you and to build on a relationship with you.

  • Paul Bakeries

Following the death of his father in 1958, Francis Holder took over the family bakery in Lille. With his mother's assistance he expanded the business and when the Nouvelles Galeries opened in 1965, he immediately offered to supply their bread. Under the “Moulin Bleu” Francis Holder provided bread to Auchan and Monoprix from his bakery in Lambersart, and by 1970 he was able to purchase an abandoned industrial site at La Madeleine, in the suburbs of Lille, transforming it into an enormous bakery. The installation in 1972 of a wood stove at the original Lille bakery proved so popular that, as the Paul chain expanded into French malls in Paris and other major French cities, it was incorporated into the general layout. Apart from a change of livery in 1993 (to the now-signature black), the layout and visual aesthetic of Paul stores has not changed.
